Personnel Committee 4. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 08/28/2012 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services <br />Title: <br />Consider a Resolution to Hire a City Engineer <br />Background: <br />At the June 5. 2012 special City Council meeting, staff was authorized to conduct a recruitment process to fill the <br />City Engineer position which would be left vacant after Mr. Himmer's last day on June 29, 2012. <br />A recruitment process was conducted and staff received five applications. All five candidates were interviewed and <br />one candidate was interviewed a second time. Staff has completed the necessary background checks and is <br />recommending that the top finalist be hired as the City's new City Engineer position. As of this writing, the City is <br />awaiting the results of the pre -employment physical and drug/alcohol testing. It is anticipated that the results will be <br />available prior to the Personnel Committee meeting. Once the City receives the passing test results the name of the <br />candidate name will be provided. <br />It is anticipated that the new City Engineer will begin work on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
