TO: Ramsey Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: City Engineer <br />DATE: May 21, 1981 <br />RE: Sealcoating <br /> <br />In review of your capital improvement program, there are 10 streets or subdivisions <br />scheduled for sealcoating this year. This program was previously scheduled to <br />start in 1980, but was delayed. <br /> <br />Due to the deterioration of the street surfaces, we would not recommend delaying <br />this program any longer. Therefore, if the council decides to assess for seal- <br />caoting as stated in Ordinance 80-8 adopted September 30, 1980, feasibilities <br />should be ordered and public hearings should be held. To complete the work <br />during the warm weather months as required for sealcoating, public hearings <br />should be held in June, bids taken in July, and the work completed in August. <br /> <br />Following is a list of areas scheduled for sealcoating in 1981: <br /> <br /> 1) Gorhams Service Road <br /> Woodland Green <br /> Rum Acre Estates <br /> 4) Reilley Estates <br /> 5) Halls Dover Acres <br /> 6) Flintwood Hills <br /> 7) Riverside West <br /> <br />g) <br /> 153rd W. of 83 <br />10) Service road on 5 <br /> <br />For the )~A streets which are listed as 8 and 9 above, we would recommend using <br />MSA construction funds. <br /> <br /> <br />
