Re: Ordinance Codification Dear Council: At your request I am making the following written proposal for recodification of the City Code. I propose that this job include revision, where necessary, of each of the existing code's chapters, including the assimilation of existing ordinances into the code and the adoption of the following new subject areas: Mining, Site and Design, Subdivision ( to be in conformance with the State Statutes), Critical Rivers, Wild and Scenic Rivers, Cable TV, Music Festival and Sauna. I will be respon- sible for drafting of the necessary revisions. In addition, the pro- ject would include a thorough review of the Zoning chapter and draft- ing of revisions where necessary. In order to assure that the project is performed in accordance with the City's desires, it will, of course, be necessary to meet periodically with the City Council and its advisory commissions. I will be available for four such council and/or joint commission meet- ings to be scheduled periodically during the project. Also as I am sure you are aware, the recodification will require much city staff time and I, of course, will work closely with your full time administrative staff. It will also be necessary to call upon the City's Consulting Engineer for his input during certain phases of the project. Besides the actual meeting and drafting time, a major expense of the project will be typing and printing. '1 propose that the typing be done on "automatic typing" which will then give two draft copies and one final draft for printing. Automatic or memory typing allows for the draft to be created without actually having to retype the entire product.
