The street section proposed would be narrower than the City of Ramsey's standard suburban street section, but would minimize di.sruption to the adjacent lots during construction since the street width proposed generally follows the present street section width. The street section proposed as shown on Exhibit B consists of a 3 inch gravel base with a 1~" bituminous surface. This section is equivalent to a 5-ton design in accordance to the Department' of Transportation specifications'. This section has been previously used in the city and other communities with no detrimental effects. It is estimated that this street section has a life expectancy of 15 years with minimal maintenance. The proposed construction would not include any driveway construction with the exception of a one foot apron, which would be provided on all driveways to pro- .tect the edge of the pavement. It would be the homeowner's responsibility to extend existing bituminous or concrete driveways to match the street. STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT: With the proposed suburban street section, the need for roadside ditches is eliminated. The only drainage improvements proposed at this time are culvert extensions or replacements at the low points along 157th Lane as shown on Exhibit A. It is also proposed to acquire two drainage easements to provide drainageways to County Ditch No. 66 and 3 as shown on Exhibit A.
