Goodrich <br /> <br /> Members Present: Mayor Gamec <br /> Councilman Cox <br /> Councilman Mickel son <br /> Councilman Reimann <br /> Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br /> ~yor Camec called the hearing to order at 8:09 P.M. and explained the <br /> purpose of the hearing is to consider and review the A~sessment for ' ' <br /> JASPAR, IRONSTONE, 159TH LANE, 160/5{ LANE, 161ST LANE, 162ND LANE street improvem~n <br /> and that the assessment is being moved up to save on interest costs. <br /> The project is complete exceptfor restoration of ditches, repair of <br /> corners, etc. He added that off 160th a driveway will be blacktopped <br /> by the City because of the. drainage-problems which the project created. <br /> He explained the City's driveway connecting policy and that concrete <br /> aprons are disallowed unless they have an expansion strip installed <br /> incase there is ever a need to remove it. <br /> <br /> Engineer Raatikka reviewed the project and the cost summary. <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec said there iS'a performance bond issued on the streets so <br /> that any problems occurring are covered by the contractor and are <br /> repaired. % <br /> <br /> A citizen on 151st Lane, asked if there are any parcels in this project <br /> whichwill be assessed double. <br /> Mayor Gamec said basically the reason for the joining of the areas wai to <br /> avoid this and there are none. <br /> <br /> Joe McCarty, Jaspar and 162nd Lane. reported that the. street project- <br /> has created a' draina~eproblem and the-culvert which will be drainin~ <br /> ~o~thand that his driveway would eventually be washed away. <br /> <br /> EngineerRaati]d<a replied that_any driveway culverts that are required ~ <br />~are the responsibilit~of the homeowner and the reason for the culvert <br /> was because,ofthe standin~ water on ~th side of that lnte~eCt~.n.. <br />Mr. McCarty said that the City bas mlt~n driveways where the prQject <br />~has created drainage problems. The~el~re three drive%fays on 161st _ <br />that would be washed out because of the road co~ing in.
