Johnston <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmemb~r Reimann and seconded by Council- <br />member ~orteberg recommending to the City Council the City <br />hire Miss Penny J. 0tt for the newly created position of <br />Typist/Receptionist commencing at $3.75 per hour and that <br />upon satisfactory completion of a six month probation period <br />that her hourly rate be increased to $4.10 per hour. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Councilmember Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Council- <br />member $orteberg recommending Mary A. Hayford as second <br />choice should Miss Penny J. Ott not want the job as Typist~ <br />Receptionist. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Councilmember Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. <br /> <br />b) Public Works Man - Street Superintendent Mevissen <br />informed the Personnel Committee that Mr. Richard Buchite <br />was intending to retire in the fall and would submit his <br />resignation in writing in August of this year. <br />Mevissen stated he would like to consider one of his part <br />time men for this position. It was pointed out that the <br />City would have to advertise to fill this position. It <br />was also discussed what type of a salary the City would <br />have to pay for this replacement. <br /> <br />ConseqGently, it was requested to check and see what the~ <br />average going rate wottld be to hire someone to replace <br />Buchite. <br /> <br />2) 1982 CITY BUDGET: ~ The following issues were discussed in regards to <br />this case: <br /> <br /> a) City Employees salary increases for 1982 - Council <br /> Personnel Committee requested the City Administrator pre- <br /> pare backup work for proposed salary increases in 198.2 as <br /> soon as possible for the Council Personnel Committee. <br /> <br /> b) Council salary increase - It was pointed out that the <br /> Committee should make salary recommendations for the Council <br /> members. <br /> <br />3) CGVKPENSATORY TI~E OFF REGARDING CITY EMPLOYEES: This issue was dis- <br />cussed with the Council Personnel Committee as to how compensatory time <br />is compensated here in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />PC/June 2, 1981 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
