According to Section 1B0.Oll0 <br />of the City Code, the fee to be charged is SB0.00. <br /> <br />Recammendation <br />Fees should be charged in accordance with the City Code. <br /> <br />0bservatioq' <br />The City Council minutes do not always indicate the amount of <br />bills approved and thus there is no record of which checks <br />have been approved. <br />In addition, no mention of bills approved, except for <br />construction projects, was noted in the minutes of <br />December 16, 1980. <br /> <br />Recommendation . - <br />Since all disbursements require City Council approval,, the <br />minutes should indicate the amount of bills approved and/or <br />the Council members should sign the bills listing which is <br />retained by the City accountant. <br /> <br /> 0bservatio~ <br />At December 31, 1980, City funds on deposit at First Minneapolis- <br />· Bank exceeded the FDIC insurance protection and pledged <br />collateral by $211,1W0. <br /> <br />Back,round <br />Minnesota Statutes W2?.01 requires that public funds on deposit <br />in banks be protected by deposit insurance and pledged collateral. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The City should again notil~y their depositories of the importance <br />of having adequate coverage for City deposits. <br />In addition, the City should review collateral pledged periodi- <br />cally during the year to ascertain that the City's funds are <br />adequately protected. <br /> <br /> <br />
