well as additional parcels in need of redevelopment and recommended to City Council that negotiations commence and to utilize eminent domain where appropriate. Based on advisement by the City Attorney, the list of properties for acquisition has been revised to the parcels that have been scheduled in the Capital Improvement Plan. It is timely to complete this action tonight, as the next City Council meeting is not scheduled until February 28, and staff is requesting that the recommendation be made prior to March 1. Mayor Gamec asked if the property owners have been contacted. City Administrator Norman responded in the affirmative. Mayor Gamec requested clarification that there can still be negotiations with the property owners after the eminent domain process has begun. City Administrator Norman responded in the affirmative. He advised the proceedings will be a lengthy process. Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Resolution #06-02-053 authorizing eminent domain for the acquisition of parcel #27-32-25-33-0011 identified in said resolution for economic development purposes, to adopt Resolution #06-02-054 authorizing eminent domain for the acquisition of parcel #27-32-25-44-0003 identified in said resolution for economic development purposes, to adopt Resolution #06-02-055 authorizing eminent domain for the acquisition of parcel #27-32-25-43-0014 identified in said resolution for economic development purposes, and to adopt Resolution #06-02-056 authorizing eminent domain for the acquisition of parcel #27-32-25-44-0006 identified in said resolution for economic development purposes. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Pearson, Cook, Jeffrey, Olson, Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. Case #2: Consider Approval of Acquisition of Easements for the NW Trunk Sanitary Sewer Extension City Administrator Norman explained this case deals with completion of the work for the NW Trunk Sanitary Sewer Extension Program. He reviewed past actions taken by the Council regarding the sewer extension. Mr. Norman advised them are 54 properties along the selected alignment. The elimination of the trail has been well received by the remaining parcels. A memo from The Tinklenberg Group, the list of property owners contacted, and the proposed amounts are included in the Council's packet, as well as exhibits showing the location of each parcel. He advised Jodi Ruehle of The Tinklenberg Group has been unable to reach Mr. Ulvog, owner of Parcel No. 26, who travels extensively. City Administrator Norman advised staff recommends approval of the completed negotiations with the 13 property owners. The total negotiated amount for these 13 parcels is $109,759.81.
