Joynes, Chairman MAMA General Labor Relations Committee MAMA JOINT COMPENSATION STUDY CONSULTANT SELECTION AND CITIES PARTICIPATION On Tuesday, November 6, 1984 the MAMA RFP Committee interviewed the three finalist consultants for the MAMA joint compensation study. After the conclusion of the interviews, %he meeting with cities' representatives and the meet and confer session with union representatives, the MAMA RFP Committee selected CONTROL DATA BUSINESS ADVISORS, INC. as the consultant to do the MAMA joint compensation study. Of particular interest to the Committee in the CDC proposal were the advantages of task evaluation rather than whole-job evaluation, the high level of participation of employees in both the job analysis and job evaluation processes, and the available software packages for continued maintenance of compensation programs. Negotiation meetings have begun with CDC representatives to produce a contract covering the technical and financial aspects of this joint study. A meeting has been scheduled for ALL MAMA CITY MANAGERS for the following date, time and location to discuss the CDC proposal, the costs involved in this joint project, and to get a firm commitment from cities desiring to participate in this joint study. A list of cities initially committing to this joint study is enclosed. The city representative attending this meeting should be prepared to commit the city financially to this Joint compensation study. DATE: Tuesday, December 4, 1984 TIME: 10:00 A.M.
