I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

November S, 1984

Attention: Planning & Zoning Commission

The Ramsey Rangers is a saddle club formed 20 years ago to
promote conscientious and courteous horsemanship in what is now
the City of Ramsey. We have recently learned that the City of
Ramsey is currently reviewing the "Zoning Regulation of Fridley"
for the purpose of adopting them in Ramsey. The Ramsey Rangers
feel strongly that these new regulations if adopted would
seriously impact both horsemanship and all rural interests in the
City of Ramsey.
we believe that the rural atmosphere of Ramsey is one of its
greatest assets and horsemanship is a significant part which adds
character and contributes to our development; and because the
members of the Ramsey Rangers and horse people in general, have a
significant investment in the City of Ramsey. The Ramsey Rangers
Saddle Club has formed a committee to work with and assist the
Planning and Zoning Commission develop ordinances that will
provide for the needs of all Ramsey residents.
The Ramsey Rangers have obtained regulations originally developed
in the Boston area. These regulations have been reviewed by a
cross section of the Ramsey Horse Committee and we believe this
represents a good model for Ramsey to follow. We have attached
copies of these regulations for members of the Planning and
Zoning Commission to review. Your consideration of these
regulations would be appreciated.
We will continue to monitor your progress on this and will assist
in whatever way possible.

Sincerely,

Roy H.
