Mr. Schnelle stated that the charter can be amended to adopt State Statute <br />429; no election on the issue would be required if the citizens do not <br />object to the ~endment. <br />Co~issioner Cox stated that the Con~ission should encourage Council to <br />initiate adopting Statutory Requir~entS of Chapter 429 into the Charter. <br /> Chairman Greenberg authorized City Staff to prepare more input and facts <br /> regarding this issue for Co~ission review at their next regular meeting. <br /> APPROVAL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> Motion by Co~missioner Fults and seconded by C~,u~dssioner Cox to approve <br /> regular Economic Development Con,mission meeting minutes dated October 9, <br /> 1984. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, C~.~issioners Bardin, <br /> Fultsw Miller, Muller, Cox, Wagner and Vevea. Voting No: None. Absent: <br /> Cu,..issioners Schmidt and Schneider. <br /> <br />QDMMISSION BUSINESS CONTINUED <br /> <br />~ Subco~,,ittee Reports (continued): <br /> <br />b) Economic - <br />Conmissioner Fults stated that he has talked to developers in the City and <br />they are pushing for the R~ River Bridge Crossing; there is a Food 'n' <br />Fuel coming in on the corner of Rwy. 47 and Industrial Blvd.; south of that <br />location there is a possibility of a strip center, an apart~ent complex and <br />office/warehouse. <br />Co~,;;dssioner Fulto stated that Ecor~mic suboommittee m~rship needs <br />review; there should be more me~bers on it in order to conduct effective <br />official meetings. <br /> <br /> Cu,~u,issioner Fults stated that Mr. Lyle McLaughlin is responsible for so <br /> much of the develo~l~ent in this City and he should be considered for <br /> appointment to the R~ River Bridge Crossing Committee. <br /> <br />c) Finance - <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris reviewed with the Co~mission her report on the County's response <br />to proposed uses of CDBG funds by the CPBG Funds Uses Subcommittee. <br />Conmissioner Cox stated that he is supportive of a YMO; facility which <br />would benefit low and moderate ino~me f~ilies and it would enhance <br />existing develoi~ent and enoouragemore development along Bwy. 47. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />m <br /> <br /> <br />
