MAR-9-200~ 02:47P FROM: T0:7654295545 P:BxB

As stated in an eartier point in this tetter, why have Ramsey resemble any/every other
suburb? When ddving through the general area it is already difficult to telt when you leave
one dry and enter another city. How about this for a new concept? Allow Ramsey to be
"different" from the rest, a respite so to speak, from cluster housing, additional retail
businesses.
people moved to Ramsey for its 'openness'~'its fresh' air~ its rural feeling; its lack of
commercial/retail businesses. People did not move to RamseY for duster housing, city
sewer/water, and the 'claustrophobia' and commerdalism being thrust upon it residents by
the dry coundL
Entice new residents to a "unique" Ramsey by promoting Ramsey's openness and fresh air
feeling. Rather than building new homes on every available open space in the dry, try
encouraging people to purchase the existing homes for sale within the dry? As of March 9
accordin~ to Minnesota's Multiple Listing Service online, there were 2_32 available
family houses, duptexes, condo/townhouses and farms/hobby farms for sale. There are
existing homes sitting vacant while new homes continue to be bu~tt. Where's the to~tc? Get
the vacant homes filled before building new homes that could atso sit vacant.

To put it slmpty, this cluster houdncl Rroiect is a lousy 1dee, a/on~ with the commerdalism
that is invadin~ our beloved Ramsey. More residents than you can imagine are opposed to the
dry coundVs so cai. led "progressive philosophy." The cound[ may find'this difficult to
believe, but not aU the dty's residents are in favor of additional people crammed into our
living spaces, or the thought of a Target/Caribou Coffee/Great Clips etc. in our backyardsl
One iast point, should this sad trend cor~ttnue in Ramsey, I can assure you that if any of the
current council members are re-elected at the next election it wi[[ not be due to any vote
that I would east in your favor!

-133-
