023se lc> <br /> <br /> Introduction of an Ordinance Repealing <br />Section 2.03.06, Subdivision 5, Horse Care Board and <br />Amending Section 5.09.05, Horses <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The primary objective of the Horse Care Board is to advise the City Council, other <br />Ramsey advisory commissions and boards, and Ramsey City staff regarding matters <br />relevant to the maintenance of horses on properties within the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The Horse Care Board has not met since February 2002; therefore, staff sought City <br />Council direction regarding future plans for the Horse Care Board. Former Horse Care <br />Board members were advised that the City Council would discuss the future of the Horse <br />Care Board and they were invited to attend the work session of March 28, 2006. <br /> <br />At the March 28, 2006 work session, the City Council elected to dissolve the Horse Care <br />Board as there is no longer a need for its services. Staff was directed to bring forward an <br />ordinance repealing language regarding the Horse Care Board. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council introduce an ordinance repealing Section <br />2.03.06, Subdivision 5, Horse Care Board and Amending Section 5.09.05, Horses. <br /> <br />CC: April 11, 2006 <br /> <br />-229- <br /> <br /> <br />
