The gross surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred il 00) <br />square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface area <br />of two hundred square feet. <br /> <br />A ground sign shall not ~project hiaher than ten (10) feet, as measured from <br />· based of sign or grade of the nearest adjacent roadway, whichever is higher. <br /> <br />9.12.11 Planned Unit Developments <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. The developer shall be required to submit a sigr{ plan for <br />approval, drawn to scale w/th elevations. The sign plan shall include but not be limited to the <br />following ~information: number of signs, type of signs, sign sizes, type of construction materials, <br />and sign messages. <br /> <br />-9.12.12 Construction Specifications <br /> <br /> Subdivision I. All signs permitted by ~l-fis Section in excess of sixteen (16). <br />square feet shall be painted, lettered, or faced to the workmanship standards and best commercial <br />prac~ces of companies normally engaged in the business of providing commercial signs, using <br />materials designed and marketed specifically for use on outdoor signs. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. In addition to complying with the provisions 0fth/s ordinance, ail signs <br />shall be constructed in accordance with the applicable provisions of the 1991 Edition of the <br />Uniform Sign Code and State Electrical Code and as subsequently amended. . <br /> <br /> · Subd. 3..All signs shall be located in such a way that they maintain horizontal <br />and yertical clearance of all electrical power lines and communication lines. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. All signs and their s{~pporting structures §hall maintain clearance and <br />.non-interference with all' surface and underground facilities and conduits for water, sewage, gas, <br />electricity, or communications equipment or lines. In addition, the placement of all signs and <br />their supporting structures shall not interfere with natural or artificial drainage or surface or <br />underground water. <br /> <br /> Subd. 5. Ail signs, except those attached fiat against the wall of a building shall <br />be constructed to Withstand minimum wind loads as follows: <br /> <br />a. Solid Signs. Thirty (30) pounds per square foot per'face of the sign.. <br /> <br />Open Signs. Thirty-six (36) pounds per square foot of the total face area of <br />the letters and other sign surfaces, or ten (10) pounds per ~quare foot of the <br />gros~ surface area of the sign, whichever is greater. <br /> <br />9A2.13 Non-conforming Signs <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br /> <br />
