AUTHORIZE USE OF COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR CMAQ <br />GRANT COLLABORATIVE CELEBRATION <br /> By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Recently, the cities of Anoka and Ramsey received confirmation that the Met CoUncil <br />will be awarding CMAQ grants to both communities for transit improvements in the <br />Northstar Corridor. Specifically, the city of Ramsey will be receiving 4.5 million to fund <br />an additional 200 parking stalls at the currently Under-construction Municipal Parking <br />Facility and two Northstar commuter buses to provide express bus service to downtown <br />Minneapolis during the AM/PM peak hours. <br /> <br />In an effort to celebrate this success and acknowledge the work of the many organizations <br />and officials that made this possible, a collaborative celebration has been scheduled for <br />Monday, May 8th at The Links at Northfork from 5PM-7PM. The cost of the event is <br />estimated at $3250.00, which includes hors d'oeuvres, music and room rental. This cost <br />will be split with the City ofAnoka. Staffis requesting authorization to utilize funding <br />from the CoUncil Contingency in an amoUnt not to exceed $2000 to cover the City of <br />Ramsey's costs for the event. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />By resolution, Authorize Use of Council Contingency Funds for CMAQ Grant <br />Collaborative Celebration. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 06-04-xx Authorizing Use of Council Contingency Funds for <br />CMAQ Grant Collaborative Celebration. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />James E.
