Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:00 p.m., <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilmember Pearson. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: YOUTH FIRST <br /> <br />Chandra Kreyer, Ramsey Police Department and Board Member of the Northwest Anoka County <br />Community Consortium (NWACC), explained NWACC is the governing body for Youth First <br />Community of Promise. She stated one of the goals of Youth First is to provide regular updates <br />on their activities to the City Council and community, and she thinks the Council will be <br />impressed with the direction Youth First is taking. Tracey Wamberg-Lemm will be providing an <br />update on what Youth First has done and their future plans. Ms. Kreyer announced Youth First <br />was recently recognized as an award winner for the 2006 Public Health Award; this is the first <br />time this award has been presented in Anoka County. Youth First was recognized for joining <br />forces with Tobacco Free Initiative of Anoka County to provide tobacco-free parks. Each of the <br />cities of Ramsey, Anoka and Andover agreed to adopt a tobacco-free policy for their parks. Ms. <br /> <br />City Council / April 11, 2006 <br />Page 2 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
