~. Case #1: Continued Public Hearing - Request for Conditional Use Permit for a <br /> Monopote. Cnmmunications Tower; Case of Cingular Wireless, Inc. <br /> Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 7:49 p.m. in <br /> order to call the continued public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the continued public hearing to order at 7:49 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br />Assistant Communit~ Development Director Frolik stated the City has received an application <br />from Cingular Wireless to construct and operate a monopole communication tower, intended to <br />fill a gap in Cingular's wireless phone network. The proposed tower will be located at 6405 <br />Green Valley Road on property owned by Jeffrey and Caroline Rowe. The public hearing for the <br />request was continued to the April Planning Commission meeting due to the need for a variance <br />and a revised site plan from the applicant. <br /> Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated towers are permitted in residential <br /> districts as long as they are located in the Tower Overlay District and are at least 10 acres in size. <br /> The subject property is located within the Tower Overlay District but does not meet the <br /> minimum lot size of !0 acres. A variance to the lot size was granted earlier this evening. <br /> Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated staff recommends approval of the <br /> CUP request. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was none. <br />Motion by. Commissioner Levine, seconded by Commissioner Nix't, to close the public hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Levine, Braner, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Trites Kolle. Voting No: None.
