General Government Work Plan

Councilmember Elvig suggested the following additions: · Study issue of renaming the high school
· Communication with Boards and Commissions

City Administrator Norman indicated this was discussed last week with the organizational study.
There are also other types of communication that are important in the organization among
departments that are internal. He indicated there will be a monthly meeting held with staff and
the Planning Chair the week of the agenda.

Mayor Garnet stressed the need for a communication report to the Boards and Commissions.

City Administrator Norman stated this type of communication process will likely come through
the budget process. There is not enough staff at this time to commit to this type of
communication report. A plan will be drafted of what is needed to staff this type of report.

General Government Buildings Work Plan

Assistant City Administrator Nelson suggested the following additions: · Continue overseeing and complete the construction of the municipal center.
· Coordinate transition of the new municipal facility.
· Complete the plan for the use of the existing municipal center.

Police Workplan

Mayor Gamee requested the Council be informed about the use of the defibrillator.

The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to schedule a time for Councilmembers to be
informed about defibrillators at the beginning ora work session for those interested in attending.

Fire Workplan

Mayor Garnet inquired about available land for a future fire station.

Public Works Director Kapler indicated this is addressed in Fire Workplan Goal No. 4.

Assistant Public Works Director Olson indicated staff was approached by the County Engineer
and Commissioner Berg regarding a turn-back of County Road 63. One of the thoughts was that
the City's Capitol Improvement Plan shows that CR 63 needs to be realigned with Green Valley
Road, and no matter which way the realignment goes it will result with a landlocked segment
that is big enough for any type of fire station. There is no better site as far as access is concerned
than in the middle of the City with CR 63 upgraded.

City Council Work Session / February 7, 2006
Page 7 of 11
