JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> THIS JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between the <br />undersigned units of govel~nment, all acting by and through their governing bodies, <br />pursuant to Minn. Stat. ~; 471.59 providing for the joint exercise of powers. <br /> <br /> I~,~TN ESSETH THAT: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the undersigned governmental units ~o.eated within Anoka County desire <br /> to develop a Geographical Information System, herein referred to as "GIS~, and to <br /> determine specific uses'and benefits of GIS to each party; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the parties to this agreement have determined that it is in the best <br /> interests of all parties to develop a GIS that has common uses to the parties within Anoka <br /> County, including provision for exchanges of information between the parties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the parties desire to make a joint decision concerning the best method <br /> to determine needs and select a GIS including the possibility of a joint purchase of <br /> <br /> equipment and software programs; and - <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the patties agree that it is in their best interests that the cost of the <br /> development of GIS project be shered and their respective responsibilifies and obligations <br /> be defined; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agreement contained herein and <br /> in ~xercise of the power granted by Minn. Stat. ~ 471.59, the ps, ties to this agreement do <br /> mutually agree as follows: <br /> <br />L PURPOSE <br /> <br /> The parties agree that they have joined together for the purpose of determining the <br /> <br />direction of GIS in Anoka County, recommending a common G!S system which may be <br />acquired by all the parties hereto, with uniform standards including ha~dware and <br />software, for the GIS and providing for the purchase and administration of GIS. <br /> <br /> <br />
