Chairman Shumway called the regular meeting back to order at 7:04 p.m. Motion by Commissioner Zimmerman and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to approve the following: a) Board of Adjustment public hearing minutes dated March 24, 1988 regarding Joseph Jensen's request for variance. b) Board of Adjustment regular meeting minutes dated March 24, 1988. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Shumway, Commissioners Zimmerman, Holm, Terry and LaDUe. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Hendriksen and Howell. Case #1: Mr. Pepek presented photos of his property and stated that because of the location of his drainfield and an existing permanent storage shed, and the fact that he would like to use the existing driveway to access the new garage, he needs a variance to construct an accessory garage in front of his home. Ms. Norris noted that all the homes in Mr. Pepek's neighborhood are similarly aligned and his garage would protrude in front of other homes also. The Board reviewed aerial photos of Mr. Pepek's property. The Board could not define a physical hardship that would cause Mr. Pepek to have to place the garage in front of the principal structure. The Board suggested that Mr. Pepek consider locating the new garage to the east of the existing garage. The Board proceeded to review the proposed findings of fact. Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Commissioner Terry to delete Item #14 from the proposed findings of fact. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Shumway, Commissioners Zimmerman, Holm, Terry and LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and Hendriksen. Building Official Erickson noted that Item #8 should be corrected to indicate that the garage would be constructed approximately 34 feet, not 8 feet, in front of the existing home and garage.
