5. 20. <br />CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />08/22/2023 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Address infrastructure needs. <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #23-199 Ordering Plans and Specifications for 2024 NE Ramsey Street Reconstructions, <br />Improvement Project #24-03 <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: <br />The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #23-199 ordering plans and specifications for 2024 NE Ramsey <br />Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #24-03. <br />Background: <br />The 2023 — 2032 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies the streets within the Ford Brook Estates 3rd, <br />Rodeo Hills Estates, Valley View Acres, and Section 01 Unplatted north of CR 27 subdivisions for street <br />reconstruction in 2024. A street segment summary for these improvements is attached to this case. <br />Project Scope <br />This project proposes reconstruction of four subdivisions generally located in northeast Ramsey, east of Nowthen <br />Boulevard and north of Green Valley Road / County Road 63 and 179th Lane / County Road 27. The streets vary <br />between 24 to 28 feet wide rural sections and 24 to 31 feet wide urban sections including bituminous curbing, <br />totaling 1.97 miles in length. Traffic counts have not been taken, but Staff anticipates typical neighborhood traffic <br />due to the location of the subdivisions and lack of destinations which would increase traffic above normal. <br />No sewer or water exist in the project areas, and utility extensions to the areas are not proposed. The existing <br />drainage is through a combination of swales adjacent to the streets, and on -street drainage to curb cuts in the <br />bituminous curbing areas, as well as street crossing culverts. <br />The project is proposing to replace the bituminous curing with concrete curb and gutter. This includes the Ford <br />Brook Estates 3 rd and Section 01 Unplatted subdivisions. The existing drainage swales within the Rodeo Hills <br />Estates and Valley View Acres subdivisions are not proposed to be converted to an urban section. Based on Staff <br />knowledge of the project areas, subsoil corrections are anticipated within all project areas. This will be further <br />explored during project design which will include obtaining geotechnical reports of the project areas. <br />Project Timelines <br />Staff is proposing to not prepare plans and specifications for this project.
