Hakanson
lip Anderson
SECTION 3
PROJECT APPROACH
Work Plan
This Work Plan summarizes the major tasks that will be performed with each phase of the project. The major tasks are
defined as those tasks that could affect the critical path of this project. The following pages summarize the anticipated
tasks and deliverables for each phase.
PHASE- —!NESTIGAI iN AND TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY
Task 1 — Project Initiation
We will initiate the project by reviewing as-builts, visiting the sites to identify areas with special considerations, and
determing extents of the topographic survey.
Task 2 — Geotechnical Investigation
Identify locations for pavement cores and soil borings. We anticipate obtaining pavement cores to determine accurate
pavement depths. This information will be needed to obtain accurate quantities for removal or salvage if the material is
reclaimed for road base. We also propose to coordinate soil borings to obtain an accurate R-value estimate for pavement
design. We would develop a scope of work for the required geotechnical investigation and obtain quotes from qualified
firms. The quotes would be presented to the City for consideration and the actual geotechnical exploration costs are not
included in our proposal.
Task 3 — Gopher State One Call
A Gopher State One Call will be initiated in advance of the topographic survey and we will request that all facilities are
field marked.
Task 4 — Topographic Survey
Our proposal includes performing field surveys as necessary to ensure complete and accurate construction plans. We
propose to cross section the road at approximate 5o' intervals for the road segments that will be reconstructed. All
features such as driveways, trees, mailboxes, culverts, sanitary sewer manholes, water valve boxes, fire hydrants, traffic
signs, and landscaping areas will be surveyed within the right-of-way. We will also survey all field marked utilities.
is I -I
I 2 - DESIGN RIDDING SERVICES
Task 1 — Existing Utilities Review
We will investigate and review the existing data on the storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer systems and private utilities.
This task also includes a comparison between the field located utilities and available mapping.
PROJECT APPROACH 8
