1 Boathouse means a structure designed or used solely for the storage of boats or boating equipment.
<br />2 Boulevard means that part of the property not covered by sidewalk or other paving, lying between the
<br />3 property line and the curb line of any street. In the absence of a curb, the curb line of a street shall
<br />4 be deemed to be the edge of that portion of the public right-of-way maintained and open to the
<br />5 use of the public for purposes of public travel.
<br />6 Brewpub means a business operating as defined and regulated by Minn. Stats. Chapter 340A.
<br />7 Buffer area means the outer area of a site where the site activity is screened, distanced, or muffled from adjacent
<br />8 land uses. At a minimum the buffer area must be consistent with the intent of Minn. Stats. § 473.823, subd.
<br />9 3.
<br />10 Buildable area. The area upon which structures may be placed on a lot or parcel of land and excludes
<br />11 areas needed to meet requirements for setback, rights -of -way, bluff impact zones, historic
<br />12 properties, wetlands, designated floodways, land below the ordinary high water level of public
<br />13 waters, and other unbuildable areas.
<br />14 Building (MRCCA). A structure with two or more outside rigid walls and a fully secured roof and affixed to
<br />15 a permanent site.
<br />16 Building means any structure, with the exception of enclosed trailers with or without axles or shipping
<br />17 containers, having a roof which may provide shelter, support, protection or enclosure of persons,
<br />18 animals or property of any kind.
<br />19 Building height means a distance to be measured from the mean ground level to the highest point of a
<br />20 flat roof, or average height of the highest gable of a pitched or hip roof.
<br />21 Carport means an automobile shelter open on two et -e or more sides and shall be considered an accessory
<br />22 structure.
<br />23 Certificate of compliance. A document written after a compliance inspection, certifying that the
<br />24 development is in compliance with applicable requirements at the time of the inspection.
<br />25 Certified arborist means any person holding a valid and current arborist certification as issued by the
<br />26 International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
<br />27 Certified forester means any person holding a valid and current forester certification as issued by the
<br />28 Society of American Foresters (SAF).
<br />29 CFR means the Code of Federal Regulations.
<br />30 Club means a business operating as defined and regulated by Minn. Stats. Chapter 340A.
<br />31 Commercial recreation — indoor means private recreational facilities that are inside a building operated
<br />32 for profit and open to members and/or the general public including tennis and racquetball clubs,
<br />33 indoor swimming pools, video arcades (amusement centers), indoor batting cages, pool halls, and
<br />34 the like, excluding health and fitness clubs.
<br />35 Commercial recreation — outdoor means private recreational facilities primarily occurring outside of a
<br />36 building operated for profit or not and open to members and/or the general public including golf
<br />37 courses and driving ranges, miniature golf, riding stables, skating rinks, outdoor swimming pools,
<br />38 archery or trapshooting ranges, batting cages, softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, or football
<br />39 facilities, and the like.
<br />40 Commissioner. The commissioner of the linne&ota Department of Natural Resources. applicable state
<br />41 agency.
<br />42 Community Amenity Building means a structure or use that is accessory to a multi -family building,
<br />43 townhome association, or single-family homeowners' association that is intended for the
<br />44 enjoyment of its residents such as a swimming pool with or without restrooms, gazebo, clubhouse,
<br />45 or fitness facilities.
<br />46 Comprehensive plan means a computation of goals, policy statements, standards, programs and maps for
<br />47 guiding the physical, social, and economic development, both public and private, as defined in Minn.
<br />48 Stats. § 462.352, and includes any part of such plan separately adopted and any amendment to such
<br />49 plan or parts thereof.
