1 Conservation design. A pattern of subdivision that is characterized by grouping lots within a portion of a
<br />2 parcel, where the remaining portion of the parcel is permanently protected as open space.
<br />3 Construction equipment trailer/field office means a mobile trailer or structure used for equipment storage
<br />4 or as a field office for contractors and subcontractors, which is not open to the general public.
<br />5 Covenant means a contract between two individuals which constitutes a restriction of a particular use of
<br />6 land that is not enforced by the City, County, State, or Federal government.
<br />7 Conventional subdivision. A pattern of subdivision that is characterized by lots that are spread regularly
<br />8 throughout a parcel in a lot and block design.
<br />9 Data Center means a facility that houses information technology (IT) infrastructure for building, running,
<br />10 and delivering applications and services and for storing and managing the data associated with
<br />11 those applications and services.
<br />12 Daycare Centers means a licensed business that provides supervision of and care for children, physically
<br />13 or mentally disabled adults, or the elderly for a portion of the day or night.
<br />14 Deck. A horizontal, unenclosed, aboveground level structure open to the sky, with or without attached
<br />15 railings, seats, trellises, or other features, attached or functionally related to a principal use or site.
<br />16 Density means a number expressing the ratio of dwelling units to an acre of land. Net Density deducts
<br />17 waterbodies and wetlands.
<br />18 Detailing services means a business that provide comprehensive cleaning and reconditioning of both a
<br />19 vehicle's interior and exterior.
<br />20 Developer. Having the meaning given under Minn. Stats. § 116G.03.
<br />21 Development. Having the meaning given under Minn. Stats. § 116G.03.
<br />22 Discharge means the conveyance, channeling, runoff, or drainage, of stormwater, including snowmelt,
<br />23 from a eonstruction site.
<br />24 Discretionary action. An action under this chapter related to land use that requires a public hearing by
<br />25 local ordinance or statute, such as preliminary plats, final subdivision plats, planned unit
<br />26 developments, conditional use permits, interim use permits, variances, appeals, and rezonings.
<br />27 Distribution Facility means an establishment where shipments of tangible personal property are
<br />28 processed for delivery to customers.
<br />29 Dock. Having the meaning given under Minnesota Rules, chapter 6115.
<br />30 Driveway means an onsite prepared surface traffic lane, which shall be the traffic lane leading directly
<br />31 from a public street to the primary garage or a parking pad or lot on the subject parcel;
<br />32 Dustless Surface consists of compacted bituminous millings or crushed rock. The crushed rock must all be
<br />33 similar in size with no fine particles. Aggregate material similar to state DOT class 5 is not considered
<br />34 dustless.
<br />35 Dwelling, manufactured home, means a structure, transportable in one or more sections, which in the
<br />36 traveling mode, is eight body feet or more in width and 40 body feet or more in length, or, when
<br />37 erected on site, is 320 or more square feet, and which is built on a permanent chassis and designated
<br />38 to be used as a dwelling with or without a permanent foundation when connected to the required
<br />39 utilities, and includes the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems contained
<br />40 therein; except that the term includes any structure which meets all the requirements and with
<br />41 respect to which the manufacturer voluntarily files a certification pursuant to Minn. Stats. §§
<br />42 327.31-327.36. The term "dwelling, manufactured home," does not include "recreational vehicle"
<br />43 as defined herein.
<br />44 Dwelling, multiple family, means a building designed with three or more dwelling units exclusively for
<br />45 occupancy by three or more families living independently of each other but sharing hallways and
<br />46 main entrances and exits.
<br />47 Dwelling, senior living, means a building designed with three or more dwelling units exclusively for
<br />48 occupancy where at least one of the residents in each unit is aged 55 or greater living independently
<br />49 of each other but sharing hallways and main entrances and exits.
