RATIFY CHANGE ORDERS FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF NEW RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER <br /> By: Heidi A. Nelson~ Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />At the regular meeting of May 24th, 2005, Council established levels of authority for use during the <br />coustruction of the new Municipal Center. The following levels of authority were adopted: <br /> <br />Facilities Committee: <br /> <br />Projgct Team: <br /> <br />Approval of project change orders greater than $25,000 <br />Approval of all project change orders less than $25,000 by ratification at <br />regular Council meetings <br />Approval of project change orders in excess of $10,000 and less than <br />$25,000, ratified by City Council <br />Approval of project change orders of up to $10,000 by James E. <br />Norman, City Administrator and Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City <br />Administrator, ratified by City Council <br /> <br />This case represents the ratification of change orders that have been approved by the Project Team and <br />Facilities Committee. <br /> <br />Change Order No. 2172-01 $24,956.4 I <br /> This change order represents a number of adds/changes to the contract for audio visual <br /> equipment, they include: <br /> Add of Assisted listening system for Council Chambers (required per ADA code <br /> for assembly spaces) $1,288.00 <br /> Vm'ious equipment changes (reflected in adds/credits) as a result of technology <br /> changes since time of bid and recommendations of contractor for alternative <br /> equipment, includes upgraded document camera <br /> $12,460.00 ($7,303.59 credi0 <br /> Add for Training Room audio/visual equipment (not included in base bid-S20,00 <br /> place holder was in budget for this purpose-this was deferred pending the <br /> outcome of the bids to determine if funding would be available) <br /> $18,512.00 <br /> TOTAL CHANGES (2172-01): $24,956.41 <br /> <br />Change Order No. 1061-08 ($1,837.00) <br /> Misc. changes/revisions for wood door finishing, casework changes, deleting in-wall <br /> blocking (not needed for furniture install), revisions to windows <br /> TOTAL CHANGES (1061-08 ($1,837.00) <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />kati fy the roi!owing change orders for the construction of thc new Ramsey Municipal Center. <br /> <br />Cmmcil ActiOn: <br />Authorize Resolution No. 06-05-xx, Ratif,ving Change Orders for Construction of new Ramsey <br />Municipal Center. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br /> <br />
