Councilman Mickelson introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION 79-56 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING METROPOLITAN COUNCIL PHYSICAL <br />DEVELOPMENT CO~ITTEE TO DELAY CO~[MIT~NT OF ANOKA <br />INTERCEPTOR CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: The Physical Development Committee of the Metro- <br />politan Council proposes at its meeting on September 13, 1979 to con- <br />sider a 1980 budget item that would assure local f~nding of an Anoka <br />Interceptor, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: Beginming of construction of said Anoka Inter- <br />ceptor would be scheduled for the late winter months of 1979 or the <br />spring of 1980, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: A critical social issue in the construction of <br />said interceptor will be the interruption of availability of a por- <br />tion of Greenhaven Golf Course in Anoka, and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS: The minimum interference with said golf course <br />will occur if maximum use of the winter construction season is made, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: A portion of the 1979-1980 winter construction <br />season will be over before construction of said interceptor can <br />commence, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: The recommendation of the Metropolitan Coumcil <br />Staff would exclude from funding a link between said interceptor and <br />any other facility that could convey wastewater collected therein to <br />a wastewater treatment plant because identification of the appropriate <br />linking facility is part of an ongoing study, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: The most cost-effective linking facility be- <br />tween said interceptor and a wastewater treatment plant will be iden- <br />tified by January 1980, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS: There is already in the City of Anoka an inter- <br />ceptor facility that is not being appropriately utilized because of <br />an inadequate linking facility with a wastewater treatment plant, <br />and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br /> 1) The Ramsey City Council respectfully requests that the <br />Physical Development Committee of the Metropolitan Council defer action <br /> <br /> <br />
