a) The Act tends to force small businesses out of business <br />because of an unproportionate tax burden which cannot be <br />passed on to the consumer, <br /> <br />b) During this inflationary/recessionary period of time, <br />the Act's negative aspects are particularly significant and <br />troublesome. <br /> <br />o) The Act applies only to the Metropolitan Area and there- <br />fore, its repeal and the ramifications therefrom will of <br />course, not be state-wide. <br /> <br /> 2) That it is directed that the Anoka County Board of Commissioners <br />be furnished a copy of this resolution. <br /> <br /> 3) That it is directed that the following State officials be fur- <br />nished a copy of this resolution: <br /> <br />1. Governor Albert H. Quie <br />2. Senate Majority Leader Roger Moe <br />3. Senate Minority Leader Robert Ashbach <br />4. State Senator Randy Peterson <br />5. Speaker of the House of Representatives Harry Siebens <br />6. House Minority Speaker Glen Sherwood <br />7. Representative John Weaver <br />8. Commissioner of Revenue Clyde Allen <br /> <br /> AND FURTHER, the City of Ramsey be advised as to what action <br />the above appointed and elected officials will be taking on this major issue <br />and that this information be supplied to the City within fifteen (15) days <br />of receipt of this document. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Reimann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers~Cox, Reimann, Sorteberg and Van Wagner <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 22nd day of December, 1981. <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas G.
