Defined contribution <br /> <br />VOLUNTEER <br /> <br />FIRE <br /> <br />FIGHTERS' RELIEF <br /> BY-LAWS <br /> <br />ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />SECTION 1. BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> <br />The Board of Trustees shall consist of six members elected by the membership and three <br />ex officio members consisting of the Fire Department Chief, Mayor and City Finance <br />Director. One of the elected Board members shall be a pensioner elected by the full <br />membership. In the event no pensioner is available for said Board position, the position <br />shall be filled by an active fire fighter Association member. <br /> <br />The initial Board of Trustees shall be selected as follows: <br /> <br />Two members shall be elected for a one year term; two members shall be elected for a <br />two year term; and two members shall be elected for a three year term. <br /> <br />At all subsequent annual meetings of the Association two Board members shall be <br />elected for three year terms. A vacancy on the Board may be filled by the remaining <br />Board members at any regular or special Board meeting but the Board members so <br />selected shall hold office only until the next special or annual meeting of the Association <br />membership when the successor shall be elected by the membership. <br /> <br />Officers of the Association shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer <br />elected by the Board for terms coinciding with their term of office as a trustee. In the event <br />of failure to perform or inefficiency in the performance of assigned duties, an officer of the <br />Association may be removed at any time by a two-thirds vote of the Board. A Board <br />member may be removed at any time by a two-thirds vote of the Association membership <br />at a regular or special meeting. <br /> <br />As compensation for services to the Association by the President, Secretary and <br />Treasurer, the membership may at the Annual Association Meeting authorize payment of <br />an aggregate salary expense payable from the Special Fund to those officers.
