Kurak is looking for a residential designation with a density of 15-20 units per acre. Staff is of <br />the opinion that mixed residential is appropriate based on the development surrounding the <br />property. <br /> <br />The Commission was not interested in changing the land use designation of Mr. Kurak's <br />property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Susan Anderson was present and requested some input on the preferred land use <br />designation for Blaine Edmundson's property in the southwest quadrant of 153ra Avenue and St. <br />Francis Blvd. N.W. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Nixt to place a mixed use <br />designation on the Edmundson property. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: There was some discussion of writing zoning ordinances that would not <br />include gas stations in mixed use areas. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Johnson, Nixt, Dempsey, <br />Kociscak, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Jensen. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was to schedule a public hearing and Commission action for <br />7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 1999 regarding the amended draft Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Dempsey to adjourn the <br />workshop meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Anderson, Commissioners Johnson, Dempsey, <br />Kociscak, Nixt and Wivoda. Voting No: None.
