CASE
STATUS OF CULVERT UNDER COUNTY ROAD #57
(SUNFISH LAKE BLVD.) ACROSS FROM
HUNTER'S HILL ADDITION
By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer

Background:

since your April 17, 1990 on-site meeting with the residents of
Hunter's Hill, the Anoka County Highway Department has opened up
the culvert under County Road #57. Last week Public Works
Supervisor, Merle Mevissen, checked the culvert elevation in regard
to the walkout elevation of Lot 9, Block 4 and found the culvert
to be 1.1 feet below the walkout level. Mr. Mevissen also found
that there was an eight to ten inch rise in the elevation of the
lot in front of the culvert. Therefore, grading and filling of the
lot will be required to make it drain properly.

I have also checked th~-City and'County records and found that the
only easement on Lot 9, Block 4, Hunter's Hill is a 10 foot wide
drainage utility easement over the back of the lot.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend
to the City Council that appropriate drainage easements be
acquired.

Planning and Zoning Commission Action:

Motion to recommend that City Council direct City staff to acquire
appropriate drainage easements in the area.

Review checklist:

city Administrator
City Attorney
City Engineer
Community Development Dir.

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
X Public Works Supt.
