CASE #10

MEMORANDUM

FROM:

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission

Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director ~. 5 ~

May 30, 1990

Joint Planning and Zoning Commission meeting with Cities of Elk River,
Zimmerman, Becker, Big Lake and Andover

On May 29, 1990 I received a phone call from Peter Kimball, City of Elk River Planning and
Zoning Commission Chair, requesting that the Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission meet
with them as well as other municipal planning and zoning commissions sometime between July
and September 1990. The purpose of such a meeting is to:

Develop communications between the various commissions
Discuss issues of mutual concern (e.g., sign ordinances, screening, transportation,
etc.)
Identifying educational and training needs mutual to the various commissions and to
jointly request the Governmental Training Services to provide educational and
training opportunities. The Governmental Training Services organization can
provide such opportunities to requesting governmental agencies who have a
sufficient number of people interested as well as a defined need. Such services are
free of charge.

The Planning and Zoning Commission may want to consider identifying a number of possible
dates during the months of July, August and September for such a meeting. The proposed length
of the meeting would be 1.5 to 2 hours in time length.

MSB:ccr
