2) <br /> <br />Cabinets and/or shelves and counters or tables shall be of sound construction <br />furnished with surfaces that are easily cleanable and that will not impart any toxic <br />or deleterious effect on food. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />A stove or similar device for cooking food and a refrigerator or similar device for <br />the safe storage of food shall be properly maintained with all necessary connection <br />for safe, sanitary, and efficient operation. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />WINDOWS, DOORS, AND SCREENS: Every window, exterior doorway, and <br />hatch way shall be substantially tight and shall be kept in sound condition and <br />repair. <br />Every window, other than a fixed window or storm window, shall be capable of <br />being easily opened. <br /> <br />5) LIGHTING: All electrical light fixtures shall be kept in a good state of repair. <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />MINIMUM ELECTRICAL STANDARDS: Every dwelling unit and all public and <br />common areas supplied with electric service, functioning overcurrent protection <br />devices, electrical outlets, and electrical fixtures shall be maintained in good and <br />safe working condition, and shall be connected to a source of electric power in a <br />manner prescribed by the ordinances of the City and by the laws of the State of <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />FLOORS, INTERIOR WALLS, AND CEILINGS: Every floor, interior wall and <br />ceiling shall be kept in sound condition and good repair. Every floor shall be free <br />of loose, warped, protruding or rotted flooring materials. Every interior wall and <br />ceiling shall be free of holes and large cracks and loose plaster and shall be <br />maintained in a tight, weatherproof condition. <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br />STAIRWAYS, PORCHES, AND BALCONIES: Every stairway, inside or outside <br />of a dwelling, and every porch or balcony shall be kept in a safe condition and <br />sound repair. <br /> <br />9) <br /> <br />DOORS, LOCKS, AND SECURITY: No owner shall occupy nor let to another for <br />occupancy any dwelling unit unless all exterior doors of the dwelling in it are <br />equipped with safe, functioning, locking devices which meet the requirements of <br />the Uniform Building Code. <br /> <br />10) <br /> <br />SNOW REMOVAL: The owner of a dwel]ing shall be responsible for cleaning and <br />maintaining all wa]ks, drives, and steps free of any ice or any snow <br />accumulations of two (2) or more inches within twenty-four (24) hours of the storm's <br />completion. <br /> <br />SECTION 110.194B - IMMEDIATE HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS: The following are <br />considered immediate hazards to health and safety for human occupancy: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />Heating systems that are unsafe due to: burned out or rusted out heat exchanges <br />(fire box); burned out or plugged flues; not being vented; being connected with <br />unsafe gas supplies, failing to meet the minimum heating standards set forth in <br />Section 110.192C. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Water heaters that are unsafe due to: burned out or rusted out heat exchanges (fire <br />box); burned out, rusted out, or plugged flues; not being vented; being connected <br />with unsafe gas supplies; or ]ack of temperature and pressure relief valves. <br /> <br /> <br />
