ORDINANCE #$9-33
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 170.0 known as the Planning, Subdividing and
Signs Chapter of the City Code.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 170.014, 170.014D, adding 170.015I
and amending 170.016A of the City Code.

The City of Ramsey ordains:

SECTION 1. AMENDMENTS

Section 170.014 of the Ramsey City Code pertaining to
development areas and zoning districts is amended to read as
follows:

170. 014

ZONING DISTRICTS

170.014A DISTRICT AND DEVELOPMENT AREA BOUNDARIES
District and development area boundaries shown within the lines of
roads, streams, and transportation rights-of-way shall be deemed
to follow the centerlines. The vacation of roads shall not affect
the location of such district or development area boundaries. When
the zoning administrator cannot definitely determine the location
of a district or development area boundary by such centerlines, by
the scale or dimensions stated on the zoning map, or by the fact
that it clearly coincides with a property line, he shall refuse
action, and the Board of Adjustment, upon appeal, shall interpret
the location of the district or development area boundary with
reference to the scale of the zoning map and the purposes set forth
in all relevant provisions of this ordinance. When a district or
development area boundary line divides a lot of record into two or
more districts or into both development areas, any portion of the
lot within fifty feet of such division may be used for any use of
either district or development area as approved by the Board of
Adjustment. The Metropolitan Urban Service Area (MUSA) boundary
line, however, defines the limits of sewered area. Any area
outside of the MUSA boundary shall not be served with sewer.

170.014B DEVELOPMENT AREAS
In addition to being divided into zoning districts, the City is
also divided into two development areas shown by the boundaries on
the Zoning Map. These development areas are:
a. 2000 Metropolitan Urban Service Area: This area includes
that portion of the City which may receive municipal
utilities before 2000.
b. Rural Service Area: This area includes that portion of
the City which will not be considered for municipal
utilities until after 2000.
