Subd. 7. Ultimate Disposition of Recyclables. Licensed <br />Icollectors must certify that materials collected for recycling are <br />delivered to facilities which reprocess the collected materials into <br />recycled products. Licensed collectors shall submit weight slip <br />receipts on a monthly basis to the City for all recyclables. <br /> <br />SECTION <br /> <br />. CITY PURCHASING POLICY <br /> <br />The city of Ramsey shall preferentially purchase paper or paper <br />products which are manufactured of recycled paper or recycled paper <br />products whenever the price is competitive for the purpose intended. <br />For the purposes of this section, competitive means a price within ten <br />percent of the price of items which are manufactured or produced from <br />virgin paper products. <br /> <br />The city shall also make every reasonable effort to purchase items <br />manufactured of recycled materials other than paper, such as alumimum, <br />glass, steel, etc. <br /> <br />SECTION <br /> <br />· NOTIFICATION OF RESIDENTS OF RECYCLING PROGRAM. <br /> <br />The city of Ramsey shall within six months of the effective date of <br />this ordinance and at least once every six months thereafter notify <br />all persons occuping residential, commercial and institutional <br />premises within its municipal boundaries of local recycling <br />opportunities and the source separation requirements of this <br /> inance. <br /> <br />In order to fulfill the notification requirements of this subsection, <br />the City of Ramsey may, in its discretion, place an advertisement in a <br />newspaper, post a notice in public places where public notices are <br />cutomarily posted, include a notice with other official notifications <br />periodically mailed to residential taxpayers, or any combination <br />thereof, as the city deems necessary and appropriate. <br /> <br /> <br />
