<br />No person Sh~ll ~tart or allow any open burning on any property in the City of Ramsey without
<br />first having bl~taifi, ed an Open Burn permit, except that a permit is not required for any fire which is
<br />a Recreatio ~r~ Fifi3 as defined herein.
<br />7.83.05 r [ PI41RPOSES ALLOWED FOR OPEN BURNING
<br />Open Burn p4rmils may be issued only for the following purposes:
<br /> a) Elimination of fire or health hazard that cannot be abated by other practical means.
<br /> b) G.4ound thawing for utility repair and construction.
<br /> c) Di)sposat of vegetative matter for managing forest, prairie or wildlife habitat, and in
<br /> th~ development and maintenance of land and rights-of-way where chipping,
<br /> c ~o~nposting, landspreading or other alternative methods are not practical.
<br /> d) D~posal of diseased trees generated on site, diseased or infected nursery stock,
<br /> di~ased bee hives.
<br /> e) DiSposal of unpainted, untreated, non-glued lumber and wood shakes generated
<br /> fr~m construction, where recycling, reuse, removal or other alternative disposal
<br /> r m{thods are not practical.

<br />Fire Training: ~erd0its can only be issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).

<br />7.83.06 ! PI~,~RMIT APPLICATION FOR OPEN BURNING AND PERMIT FEES

<br />Open Burnin~ p ~Srrnits shall be obtained by making application on a form prescribed by the
<br />Departmenti r f N~ttural Resources (DNR) and MPCA and adopted by the City. The permit
<br />application ~! all ~e presented to the City Administrator or his/her designee for reviewing and
<br />processing sai I al~lications.
