- 5 - <br /> <br />facilities upon his premises whether the same be personally <br />used by him or his renter or lessee or other occupant of the <br />premises. <br /> <br />3. Statements for water and sewer charges for the preceding <br />quarterly period shall be mailed to each customer within ten <br />(10) days after the first day of each quarter and shall <br />include the amount due for repairs on meters, fines, <br />penalties or other indebtedness and such statement shall be <br />deemed sufficient notice to the consumer and to the owner of <br />the property against which such charges are made. Said <br />statements shall be due and payable to the City Clerk on or <br />before the end of the month in which they are billed. <br /> <br />4. At the end of thirty (30) days from the date of said <br />notice or statement all bills not paid shall become <br />delinquent. It shall be the duty of the City to promptly <br />collect delinquent accounts and the City shall notify each <br />delinquent consumer or, in case he cannot be found, then the <br />person in charge of the premises, of the amount of the bill <br />due. If the same is not paid or if satisfactory arrangements <br />for payment are not made within ten (10) days after such <br />notice, the City shall notify the delinquent consumer or the <br />person in charge of the premises that in the case of water, <br />service will be shut off. In all cases where satisfactory <br />arrangements for payment have not been made within 72 hours <br />thereafter, instructions shall be given to shut off service <br />at the stop box. <br /> <br />5. Any amounts due hereunder for municipal water or sanitary <br />sewer charges plus 10% interest may be collected in an action <br />brought for that purpose in the name of the City; or the <br />Clerk may certify to the County Auditor the amount due for <br />municipal water and sewer charges plus 10% interest, together <br />with the legal description of the premises served and the <br />County Auditor shall thereupon enter such amount within the <br />tax levy on said premises collectible with the taxes for the <br />ensuing year, provided, however, that nothing herein shall <br />change the provisions of this Ordinance with reference to <br />shutting off water for the non-payment of a water bill. <br /> <br />6. When the applicant or consumer wants to terminate his <br />water service, he shall notify the City to turn off his water <br />service. The meter shall be read at that time to determine <br />the final bill. <br /> <br />7. In all cases where water has been turned off for the non- <br />payment of bills or for violation of any rules or regulations <br />of the City, such water shall not be again turned on unless <br />and until such bills have been fully paid plus 10% interest, <br />and all delinquent charges removed and a charge for turning <br />such water on has been paid. <br /> <br /> <br />
