- 9 - <br /> <br />3. The applicant or his agent shall assist the City in <br />making any measurements necessary in locating the tap in the <br />main and curb cock. <br /> <br />4. Lift pumps. <br /> <br />a. The legal description of lots very low in elevation <br />and designed to receive sanitary sewer service via an <br />"individual home lift pump unit" when the sewer system <br />was installed shall be on file at City Hall. At the <br />time o£ connection to the sewer, the lift pump units <br />shall be provided by the City at no cost to owners of <br />designated low lots. <br /> <br />b. Unless the City expressly approves the use of an <br />individual lift pump unit or lift station, all sanitary <br />sewer service to existing portions of the City's <br />sanitary sewer system shall be by gravity flow. <br />The requirements of this subparagraph (b) shall apply to <br />all residential, commercial and industrial construction <br />and the depth of the service shall be noted by the City <br />on each site plan when reviewed and on each building <br />permit when approved. It shall be the responsibility of <br />the owner and/or developer to provide proper elevations <br />to assure gravity flow. <br /> <br />c. Any owner or developer wishing to design a building <br />contrary to the provisions of subparagraph (b) shall <br />make written application to the City's Engineering <br />Department for approval of such design. <br /> <br />d. If any construction is designed and approved to <br />receive sanitary sewer service from an existing branch <br />of the City's sewer system via a lift pump unit or lift <br />station, that unit or station must be supplied and <br />installed or designed and constructed by the owner of <br />the property, and shall be approved by the City prior to <br />installation or construction. The cost of such <br />installation or construction and the cost of all <br />operation and maintenance shall be the responsibility of <br />the property owner. <br /> <br />5. The minimum size water service shall be one inch (1") <br />tube of any material permitted by the State Plumbing Code <br />with the exception of type "L" copper, which is not <br />permitted. Plastic services must be a minimum of 160 P.S.I. <br />rating. Cast iron pipe will not be permitted in the system. <br />No flared fittings will be permitted on plastic services. <br /> <br />6. The corporation cock inserted in the distributing pipe <br />must be of the size specified on the permit order. Every <br /> <br /> <br />
