- 8 - <br /> <br />inspection, observation, measurement, sampling and testing in <br />connection with the operation of the City sanitary sewer system <br />or the City water system. Such employees shall also be permitted <br />to enter for inspection, meter reading and examining fixtures <br />causing unnecessary waste of water to the detriment of the <br />system. Said employee(s) shall promptly notify the owner or <br />occupant of such premises in writing of required repairs, if any, <br />and, in the event any required repairs are not made within ten <br />(10) days, the City may shut off the water. <br /> <br />210.0210 Connect tons. <br /> <br />1. No sanitary sewer service line between the sanitary sewer <br />main and the plumbing system of any dwelling, building or <br />other structure to be served shall be installed until a <br />connection permit has been obtained from the Inspection <br />Department and the appropriate fees set by the Council from <br />time to time are paid. In installing said sanitary sewer <br />service line the applicant shall adhere to standards <br />regarding location, size, grade, materials and workmanship as <br />required by the Plumbing Code. After the sanitary sewer <br />service connection has been accomplished the applicant shall <br />notify the Inspection Department. It shall be unlawful to <br />cover the sanitary sewer service line until an inspection has <br />been completed to insure that a proper and suitable <br />connection has been made. <br /> <br />2. No person shall make any attachment to any pipe or water <br />fixture in premises from which water has been shut off, or <br />make any connection with any service pipe which is not in use <br />between the watermains and the meters, without the party <br />desiring such work to be done having first made application <br />to and obtaining a written permit from the City for the <br />performance of such work, and no person shall make any <br />replacement tap or connect any tap or connection theretofore <br />made in any watermain without first removing the old service <br />and plugging the watermain. When new buildings are erected <br />on the site of old ones, and it is desired to increase or <br />change the old water service, no connections with the mains <br />shall be given until all the old service shall have been <br />removed and the main plugged. If any contractor, workman or <br />employee upon such buildings shall cause to allow any service <br />pipe to be hammered together at the ends to stop the flow of <br />water or save expense in removing such pipe from the main, <br />the owner of such building, such workmen and contractors <br />shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than $50.00 <br />nor more than $100.00 and shall remove said service pipe from <br />the main. If he shall fail to do so on twenty-four (24) <br />hours' notice, he shall be obligated to pay the City the cost <br />incurred by it for such removal. <br /> <br /> <br />
