ORDINANCE NO. 74-z~- !~ <br /> RAMSEY TOWNSHIP <br /> ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE REGULATION AND KEEPING OF HORSES WITHIN <br />RAMSEY TOWNSHIP, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />The Town Board of Supervisors of the Township of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. HORSE DEFINED <br /> <br /> A. As used in this chapter, horse shall mean any stall[on, mare, gelding, <br /> foal, pony, donkey, ass, buro, mule or animal of horse kind. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. ACREAGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br /> A. No horse shall be maintained on any plot of less than two and one half <br /> (2½) acres. <br /> <br /> B. Said horse(s) shall be provided adequate shelter. <br /> <br /> C. Fences for pens, corrals or similar enclosures must be of sufficient <br /> height and strength to retain such animals. Extra care must be taken <br /> to insure that stallions are properly enclosed. <br /> <br /> D. At the passing of this ordinance, any person, firm or corporation <br /> maintaining horses within Ramsey Township on any plat of less than <br /> two and one half (2½) acres shall be permitted to maintain an equivalent <br /> number of horses on that property, as long as the property remains in <br /> his possession. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. RODENT AND INSECT CONTROL <br /> <br /> A. Manure shall be handled or treated [n such a manner so as not to create <br /> a public nuisance. <br /> <br /> B. Corrals, pens, stables or similar enclosures shall be maintained in a <br /> manner to minimize fly breeding. <br /> <br /> C. No person shall leave accumulations of manure on any street, sidewalk <br /> or alley, nor upon any area or lot in any portion of the Township. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF HORSES <br /> <br /> A. No horses shall be treated cruelly or inhumanely by any person or in <br /> violation of Minnesota Statutes 346.20-345-26 preventing cruelty to <br /> animals. <br /> <br /> <br />
