I I I I I I I I i I I I I I I i I I I FC CASE # l CONSIDER EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR HIGHWAY//47 CONSULTING SERVICES WITH LEONARD W. LE¥INE & ASSOCIATES, INC. By: James E. Norman, City Administrator Background: The City Council has been working with a variety of issues surrounding the Highway #47 improvement project. The magnitude of the improvement project has brought about a variety of complex issues. A suggestion of utilizing consulting services of an individual who has past served as a commissioner for the Department of Transportation (MnDOT) received a favorable reaction from the City Council during a recent work session. The City Administrator has contacted Mr. Levine and has discussed utilizing his consulting services to determine the price status of the project, ascertain the availability of funding sources, and provide the City with accurate information concerning the project's construction schedule. Mr. Levine would work with MnDOT and its agents to gather the information. In return for Levine's consulting services, the City would pay a retainer of $3,500 (Proposal attached). Staff would recommend the City utilize the services of Leonard W. Levine & Associates, Inc., as the consultant to the Highway #47 improvement project. Funding for the consulting services would be from the City's Contingency Fund. Council Action: Motion to authorize the City Administrator to execute an agreement with Leonard W. Levine & Associates, Inc., for consulting services related to the Highway//47 improvement project.
