Councilmember Connolly questioned if the map includes trail mileage or if any financing would
be available to include mileage with the trail map.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that they intend to include mileage on the maps, but have
not been able to do so as of yet. He explained that a Master Trail Plan would assist in
accomplishing that.

Commissioner LaMere questioned if the trail map was available on the Cities website.
Park/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated yes.

Commissioner Rolfe questioned why money is going back into the Landfill Trust Fund in 1999.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that he was not sure, and would check to see if it is an
error in the spread sheet.

Councilmember Hendriksen questioned the cost to construct the gazebo at Alpine Park.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated $37,500, and commented on the administration time spent
on the project.

Councilmember Hendriksen questioned if the City deducted administrative costs from the final
payment.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that he did not find any legitimate reason to be able to
do so.

Councilmember Connolly questioned why one large shelter was constructed rather than two
smaller rectangle shelters on either side of the ballfields.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that they are working to keep a similar design throughout
the City, and that they had a difficult time making room for the ballfields, but suggested the
possibility of constructing an additional smaller shelter in the future.

Councilmember Connolly questioned if all the park dedication that is received from the
Northfork development will have to be used within that district.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated yes, but noted that there is interest earned on the money
that can be used City wide.

Councilmember Connolly questioned how many districts there are in the City.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated 17.

Councilmember Connolly questioned why the City is charging a flat fee for park dedication
rather then a percentage based on the value of the house.

Park and Recreation Commission/August 12, 1999
Page 4 of 9
