PUBLIC SAFETY BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Safety Board conducted a regular meeting on Thursday, March 11, <br />1999, in the conference room at the Ramsey Police Department, 15153 Nowthen <br />Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Boardmember Tom Anderson <br />Boardmember Carl Grassl <br />Boardmember Dave Lewandowski <br />Boardmember A1 Pearson <br />Boardmember Jim Way <br />City Administrator James E. Norman (ex-officio) <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler (ex-officio) <br />Police Chief David Gustafson (ex-officio) <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Hendriksen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Public Safety Board to order at 6:15 p.m., <br />and summarized the idea behind the formation of the Board. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented except to discuss the location of fire <br />station #2 following discussion of the rest of the agenda to allow time for Councilmember <br />Hendriksen to arrive in the case he is just running late. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #2: Review Specifications for New Fire Engine <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler gave an overview of the specifications for the new fire engine and <br />explained the process of coming up with the specs. The process of completing the specs <br />included numerous conversations with apparatus manufacturers, other fire departments <br />and the maintenance service (Emergency Apparatus) the Ramsey Fire Department uses <br />for the maintenance work done on current fire apparatus. The Fire Department would <br />now send the specs to manufacturers whom in turn bid on the truck.
