Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No:
None.

Mr. Jankowski stated that the next part of this involves (Soderholms) the removal of a culvert
under 143''d at Ramsey Boulevard, which no longer needs to be reinstalled following
construction.

Councilmember Zimmerman inquired what happens to the water on the south side of 143''d. The
County has no ponding there.

Mr. Jankowski replied that it ponds in front of Soderholms.

Councilmember Haas Steffen inquired what we are doing with the water that sits on the
Soderholm property to which Mr. Jankowski replied we are doing nothing with it.

Councilmember Haas Steffen felt that should be figured out somehow - maybe after you get the
drainage district set up this should be taken care of. If you feel the 143rd culvert is not needed,
fine, but note the concern that the water south of 143rd has to go somewhere.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to
remove the culvert under 143~d at Ramsey Boulevard which no longer is needed. This would
result in a $2,320 decrease in contract price.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Zimmerman and Haas Steffen. Voting No:
None.

Mr. Jankowski informed the Committee about a manhole that was discovered that had nine
inches of rings so we will be pulling these rings out and that will cost about $400. We were
jacking under the railroad tracks. We are asking to extend jacking an additional 47 feet for an
additional $5,351.

Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to
authorize a change order for the additional jacking not to exceed $5,800.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No:
None.

ADJOURNMENT

The Pt~blic Works Committee meeting adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
.._~.RespeEtf~ly su~mitted,~, '~/.c/~ //~'
Depfity City Clerk ~ City Engineer

Public Works Committee/April 20, 1999
