Ms. Bauer stated that she takes his word on which intersections would require stop signs, but <br />feels that 144t~' and Tungsten Way is a very busy intersection and needs to be controlled better. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler questioned if the problem with 144t~ and Tungsten Way is with <br />the volume of traffic or the speed. <br /> <br />Ms. Bauer stated that both volume and speed are a problem. <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman stated that there seems to be grave concern in a neighborhood with <br />excess speed and it seems that additional signage is needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen and seconded by Chairperson Zimmerman that a four- <br />way stop sign be placed at the intersections of 142na Lane and Neon Street and 144th Lane and <br />Tungsten Way. Further, that a three-way stop sign be placed at the intersections of 143rd Lane <br />and Potassium Street and 145th Lane and Potassium Street. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman questioned staff if they had any suggestions on additional signage. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler replied that the proposed plan could be scaled down. <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman stated that he would like to see speed limit signs in the heavily traveled <br />sewer and water district. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that drivers should know that 30mph is the standard speed <br />limit in a neighborhood. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler suggested placing speed limit signs on any street coming into <br />the neighborhood from Industry Avenue and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to place <br />30mph speed limit signs on all streets entering Emerald Pond neighborhood from Industry <br />Avenue and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Update of T.H. #47 STP Project <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski updated the Committee on the progress of the T.H. #47 STP Project <br />stating that the predominant activities on the part of the City are the preparation of plans and <br />acquisition of necessary right-of-way for the project.
