Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the functions on a dirt road should continue as they
would on a paved road, but feels that if a dirt road needs major reconstruction then the residents
should be assessed the same as an overlay or sealcoating project would be.

COMMITTEE INPUT

1) 143rd and Jaspar

The Committee discussed the project on 143ra and Jaspar streets and the problems that occurred.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he thinks that 143ra and Jasper Street were awarded to the
contractor at separate times and then somehow he managed to complete both streets at one time.
He (Hendriksen) requested that Staff review how the situation was handled.

2) Drainage Issue - ParaBody

Chairperson Zimmerman questioned the drainage issue by ParaBody.

City Engineer Jankowski responded that he has a proposal to extend a 12-inch watermain over to
the north end of the new property and bring the 15-inch over to the west side of Sunfish Lake
Boulevard, but noted the price that was quoted seemed rather high.

Councilmember Hendriksen questioned why the City is responsible for extending the line on
their property.

City Engineer Jankowski answered that the City is continuing water and sewer while ParaBody
is constructing their addition. He stated that if the bid is under $25,000 they could quote out to
other excavators.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen and seconded by Chairperson Zimmerman to adjourn the
meeting.

Motion carried.
