pedestrian crossing signs. Several representatives from the neighborhood were present to offer
opinions and requests for signage in the area. Mr. Kapler stated that the Public Works
Committee voted to place all-way stop signs at the intersections of 144th Lane and Tungsten
Way, 143Td Lane and Potassium Street, 142nd Avenue and Neon Street, and 145th Lane and
Potassium Street. The Committee also voted to place speed limit signs on all City streets
entering in from County Road #116 and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. Mr. Kapler noted that he has
talked to Street Supervisor Grant Riemer and he has indicated that most streets entering the
neighborhood already have speed limit signs posted.

Mayor Gamec stated that it seems there are a lot of stop signs going through the development.

Councilmember Zimmerman explained that the Committee reviewed each intersection and took
input from many citizens and felt that the listed intersection should have stop signs.

Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to accept
the Public Works Committee's action to place all-way stop signs at the intersections of 144th
Lane and Tungsten Way, 143rd Lane and Potassium Street, 142nd Avenue and Neon Street, and
145th Lane and Potassium Street, and to place speed limit signs at all City streets entering in from
County Road #116 and Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Zimmerman, and
Anderson. Voting No: None.

2) Update on T.H. #47 STP Project

Director of Public Works Kapler stated that the purpose of this case was to update the Committee
on the progress of the T.H. #47 STP Project. The City's engineering consultant, SRF Inc., is
preparing plans, which are 90% complete. The plans have been sent to the MnDOT for review
and return comments are due any day. At the time of the Public Works Committee meeting, ten
of the thirteen homestead properties have been acquired. Eight of the remaining 26 parcels will
require uncomplicated appraisals since the estimated value of each is less than $5,000.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the Council will be meeting with Sunwood Drive
residents this week who do not want Sunwood Drive to connect to T.H. #47, and he thinks that
the Council needs to make a decision if the road will go through or not soon after the meeting.

Mayor Gamec suggested placing the Sunwood Drive extension on the agenda for the first City
Council meeting in July.

Councilmember Zimmerman requested that the City Engineer find out how much money would
have to be returned to the State if Sunwood Drive is not extended to T.H. #47.

City Council/June 22, 1999
