City Administrator Norman stated that he thinks the Comprehensive Plan should be reviewed <br />again by the Planning Commission and possibly the citizens to see if it is what the residents <br />want. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the Councilmembers need to know what the <br />Comprehensive Plan is going to be evaluated against when Met Council receives the Plan. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman pointed out that it would be very costly to bring in another <br />consultant at this stage. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman stated that under state law the Met Council is given <br />the responsibility of putting together a blue print for the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would prefer a Comprehensive Plan get submitted to <br />the Met Council based on what the citizens of Ramsey are asking for and then work out any <br />differences directly with Met Council rather then having a consultant make the decisions for the <br />Council and the residents. He questioned if it would be possible to get the criteria from Met <br />Council. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would like to see a case study done on the housing <br />development <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that Council does not make any decisions at work sessions, only during <br />Council meetings. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would like to meet with Met Council to get their <br />questions answered and then, if they determine they need help, Ramsey could hire HKGi. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested City Administrator Norman schedule a meeting with Met Council for <br />the end of July or early August. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman suggested including the Planning Commission on <br />the case study of the housing development. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to begin a <br />case study on the housing development within the mixed residential portion of the proposed <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
