Mayor Gamec inquired if there are a lot of speeding tickets issued on C.S.A.H #5. <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson responded that they have issued speeding tickets on the road, but not a <br />high number of them and also noted that the beacons only provide a warning signal. <br /> <br />The Committee recommended staff direct residents to discuss the matter with the County. <br /> <br />4) Representation on Water Management Organization <br /> <br />Discussed during the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />5) Apple Ridge Grading Issue <br /> <br />The Committee was updated on the status of the Apple Ridge grading issue. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that she would like to see staff work on putting together an <br />escrow so that the problem does not become a burden on the taxpayers. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman stated that the City can charge On-in Thompson <br />Homes for staff time. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted that the Committee requested that the issue of escrow be <br />discussed at a work session. <br /> <br />Case #6: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorize Appointment of On-Call Firefighters <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to authorize <br />offering paid on-call Firefighter positions to Jesse Temus, John Nelson and Michael Shefveland, <br />effective August 11, 1999, contingent upon satisfactory results of the background checks, driving <br />record checks and required physical examinations.. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
