Councilmember Connolly aye <br />Councilmember Zimmerman aye <br />Mayor Gamec aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #5: Report from Public Works Committee <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Approve Offers in the Amount of Appraisal for 153/155 Avenue Project <br />(Improvement Project #99-51) <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to approve <br />offers for the necessary right-of-way in the amount of the appraised values for the 153/155 <br />Avenue Project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Connolly, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Consider Tiger Street Speed Limit <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to post 55 <br />mph speed limit signs on Tiger Street. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Anderson thought that staff's recommendation was for a <br />road study. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the Committee requested that staff research <br />if the study would cost the City money. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, <br />Zimmerman, and Anderson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Report on Use of Flashing Yellow Traffic Beacons <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the beacons have been installed with the school and the <br />City participating in the funding and she thinks that if C.S.A.H #5 it doesn't meet the County <br />requirements that the City should pursue others to participate in the cost. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman noted that it was discussed during the Committee meeting that <br />there are not a lot of children crossing C.S.A.H #5, that it is mainly bus traffic. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the City needs to think of kids wanting to cross to play at <br />the school grounds and the park. <br /> <br />City Council/July 27, 1999 <br /> Page 8 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
