CASE # <br /> <br /> ACCEPT PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDER BIDS <br /> FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #05-27 <br />WELCOME'S ROAD STREET GRADING AND PAVING IMPROVEMENTS <br />By Steven Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Bids which were opened on February 23, 2006 for this project and were higher than those <br />anticipated in the feasibility study which was prepared 12 months earlier in February of <br />2005. A second public hearing was held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 to initiate the <br />reconsideration of this street paving project at the higher cost. <br /> <br />A revised feasibility study was prepared with the City sharing 50% of the total project <br />costs in addition to the costs associated with the storm sewer elements of this project <br />Which will be funded by the storm sewer utility. Project residents have been provided <br />with a copy of this revised feasibility study dated May 2006 which includes the <br />modifications directed by City Council. The attached letter was also sent advising that the <br />petitioning period following the close of the public hearing was extended by City Council <br />at the May 23, 2006 meeting until Friday June 9, 2006.
